SWCC Trades Building

Site work and new construction of an educational facility in Creston, Iowa. Completed plans call for site work for a educational facility; and for the construction of a 15,040-square-foot, one-story above grade educational facility. The general nature of the work is as follows: The project consists of a stand-alone, 15,040 square foot building on the SWCC campus. The building will be constructed of precast concrete sandwich panels for the exterior walls with structural steel joists and a metal roof deck with a membrane roof. The membrane roof will slope to scuppers through the precast parapet to downspouts. Fenestration and main entries are aluminum storefront systems. The building interior spaces include large lab spaces for trades learning spaces, classrooms, offices, gathering space and accompanying restroom and support spaces. Interior wall construction consists of metal stud and gypsum board partitions. Interior finishes are minimal, primarily paint for walls, sealed concrete floors and ceiling tile in the classrooms, offices and restrooms. Mechanical units are roof mounted. The carpentry lab will include a dust collection system. All elements needed to complete the new building will be needed including site, landscaping, civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing.
